Todays Sermon/ Masks Of Life And Halloween

In life we ware masks for just about every event in our daily lives.
For a example when we are at home we have no mask on but when we are at work we ware a mask to look and act the part. In church we war a deferent mask and so on.
In this I feel we have fallen away from being ourselves and this is do to the fear of what others
perceive of us. This Halloween in some way is a reminder of this to me. Cultures all over the world have a
day for remembering the dead and honoring them on this sacred day. In the Hispanic culture it is known as
the day of the dead. We started waring masks when we go out during this night because it was believed that evil sprites walked with the dead as will. This was so the evil sprites would not follow us home and to scar them off. pumpkins and other food were left out side as an offering. As of now it has become more of a fun day for our kids and has made the candy corporations more money every year. In this I to partake as I love the
American Halloween.
